northbound the traffic there looks good getting up to highway 17 no major problems. at 4:38 let's go to steve. >> thank you. a very good morning. lots of thunderstorm activity erupting. glib some even along l.a. and then sierra, nevada. big thunderstorms up toward tahoe and truckee. just filtered through and now it has moved off. 50s and 60s on the temp. 55 santa rosa. a cool pattern. 55 concord. west, southwest our delta breeze. nothing has changed there. i don't see a lot of big changes. the moisture is so close wrapping around the high which is far to the east. here comes the system. as that system digs in it will push that moisture away. cloud cover should be winding down. fog for us or low clouds. sun breezy. it's cool out there. the morning lows are cool. low clouds will give way to sunshine. santa cruz coastline is waiting for the coast. everywhere else it's become in. we'll have temperature temperatures on the 60s, 70s, and 80s. for others it has been hot. very hot. i don't see much changes. a little warmer tuesday and wednesday. continuation of this pattern and we'll keep it there. >
to the coast. >> steve, good morning. traffic is doing well around the bay area. we are starting off with interstate 880 which looks pretty good. no major problems there. now if you are driving on the san mateo bridge, it looks pretty good. out to the commute out to the high-rise and over to highway 101 this is a look at the commute there. also if you are driving out to the dumbarton bridge it looks good. and interstate 280 as we look at that, that traffic is off to a nice start heading out to highway 217. there is a little bit of road work but it's not causing big traffic delays. let's go back to craig. >>> antioch police have arrested the teenage boy that has become the subject of a state-wide amber alert. haas san ford was staken into custody yesterday. the teenager later turned up safe at home. ktvu paul chambers will have a live report in a few seconds. >>> this morning they will cliff a petition with 40,000 sunlights to a u.s. airways ticket counter at sfo demanding the airlines apologize to shawn mormon. charges were never filed. >>> palo alto police are investigating a string
:49 let's go to steve. >>> a hint of a stronger sea breeze, around the bay any fog will burn off soon, sunny if you are away from the coast 82 to 92, 72 to 82 inland. fog is still there, it has been filling in and it burned off sooner yesterday had some very thick fog from novato to san rosa and yesterday at this time it is 18 it leads more towards a stronger delta breeze and we'll see if it continues. 50s and low-to-mid to upper. that is at the airport -- at the airport we are 56. low pressure comes in and temperatures come up and a stronger system will move in over the weekend. again nothing that is not unusual for this time of year temperatures are near average which is not something we say during the last couple of months. it looks like an increase in the fog and cooler temperatures mainly away from the coast but today we hang our hat on sunshine and warm weather. sunshine for the coast, upper 80s to lower 90s inland and after that fog burns off it looks like an earlier start to the sunshine. more of the same on thursday and here comes a much cooler weekend definitely next week. >

few minutes. at 4:39, let's go to steve >> hi, sal, thank you very much. bigger fog bank out there. as a matter of fact, it's really starting to thicken up here, so we have low clouds and also fog and there's plenty to be enhanced because the system, what's new, drops down in and that just tends to give us more in the way of fog and more of an onshore breeze. so thick fog, then sun, cool by the coast. there's a lot of fog out there, so only a few select areas will see clearing. fog, then sunny and breezy for the bay inland. cooler and breezy today, temperatures really 70s and 80s. a system right up there, i know it doesn't look like much, but that's all it takes end of august to get things going along. 50 chilly degrees up in santa rosa, definitely a bite to the morning air. a lot of 50s here, mid-50s, a few upper 50s, livermore at 55. you combine that with a southwest or a west/southwest, everything is coming from the ocean right through the golden gate all the way out to the delta, so it's in place. that sea breeze will kick in and courtesy of that system digging into the pacific

getting up to highway 17. going to steve now? >>> the fog and even some drizzle we have been tracking measurable drizzle up the san mateo coast and foggy drizzle near the bay and around the shoreline as well. here is the latest fog pattern. we have quite a bit of coverage up towards santa rosa san jose. we have some clearing in fairfield and the same deal for antioch. as far as current numbers, monday morning right around 60 degrees. mountain view and concord in the upper 50s and last reporting 54 degrees. our forecast model shows it is still a bit stubborn right around san francisco. here we have this afternoon at 12:00 later on this afternoon and even by 6:00 this evening it will push back into the bay as we head into the evening hours. here is a quick forecast, areas of fog right around 60 degrees, sun cloud mix and still some coastal overcast, partly and mostly cloudy skies. a touch warmer but no significant warming, livermore right around 80, san jose mid- 70s. san francisco in the lower 60s. here is a look ahead. temperatures will be trending up just a little bit especially inla
